Shine On

You know the little moments that can make a bad day turn around? Maybe it's an ice cream cone in the middle of the day, a favorite song at just the right time, a love note from your honey or just a hug from your child. It is amazing how something small can put a smile on someone's face even can change their entire day. These little cards created by Ashley (founder of The Shine Project) could be that moment for someone. A random act of kindness for a stranger and the hopes they will pass it along. "Be the change you wish to see" what a powerful quote, it is the theme of The Shine Project. According to Ashley it was created to inspire and motivate you to make the world a better place, and it's so easy!
Let's talk about these cards. You do a random act of kindness, it can be as simple as pay for the person behind you in the drive through. You give the teller a pass it forward card and give it to your new buddy. They get a free breakfast, and a card that reads:

One way or another, you've ended up with this card. Now its your
turn to do a random act of kindness. Serve a family member, friend
or stranger on the street and when you do pass this card along to them.
enter the ID# on this card & follow the instructions. You will be able
to track where this card has been from the very beginning, and
see how many it has affected. Don't let it stop with you.
What an amazing treat, I am so inspired by this project. I got 10 of these cards and I am challenging myself to start spreading some smiles to others. (I will be giving one to Johnny of course I can't wait to see what he comes up with).

There are a lot of ways to get involved with The Shine Project, to learn more about it go to www.myshineproject.com. Ashley has a cute shop with some adorable jewelry and t-shirt, I just ordered mine! Oh and did I mention that all the proceeds go towards the Shine Scholarship project? It is a nonprofit organization to help inner-city students learn the leadership and life skills to help them succeed. I am really glad I came across this and just wanted to pass it along. It is really a win/win making you feel good by making others all while helping a good cause. Check it out and stay tuned for how I passed out my cards.
