I HEART faces

I heart faces is an amazing blog I follow. Really it is more then a blog it is a community of photographers who are so inspirational. Every week they host a themed photo challenge that any skill level can participate in. It sounded like a fun way to challenge myself, and become a better photographer. The first challenge I entered was "Beautiful Eyes" naturally I chose my favorite picture of Johnny from the Fourth of July. I love his expression in this photo and those beautiful eyes that melt my heart every day. I had no expectations going into it and when the winners were announced I was floored to find out that I won first place in the challenge, here is what the judge, Erin Wheeler, said of my photo:



" Over and over again this image keeps pulling me in. There is something so timeless and classic about this photo. It could have been taken yesterday or 50 years ago. Just looking into his beautiful eyes I can imagine so many stories that could be told. There is something so magical here. I love the simplicity of childhood. The personality of this image just shines."



This really was a proud and defining moment for me.
